- Can Vela read my cycle data?
- No. Your logs are stored on your phone. If you turn on sync, they are encrypted on the device with keys only you hold, so our servers store ciphertext we cannot decrypt.
- Do I need an account to use Vela?
- No. You can download Vela and start logging without an email, phone number, or sign-in. An account is only needed if you turn on sync or partner sharing.
- Is Vela free?
- Tracking, predictions, and offline use are free. Premium adds Body Forecast, Cycle Planner, deeper insights, and encrypted backup for US$5.99 a month, US$39.99 a year with a 7-day free trial, or US$99.99 once.
- Can my data be given to law enforcement?
- We can only hand over what we hold. Without sync, that is nothing. With sync, it is encrypted data we have no key for.
- How does Vela predict my period?
- On your phone, using the Ogino-Knaus method combined with weighted moving averages of your own cycles. No cloud AI is involved.
- Can I move my history from Flo?
- Yes, with Premium. Request your data export from Flo, then import the file in Vela. Your cycle history is read on the device. Premium also imports from Apple Health and Health Connect.
- Does Vela work offline?
- Yes. Logging, predictions, and insights all work with no connection.
- Is Vela on Android?
- Yes. Vela is on Google Play for Android 8.0 or later, and on the App Store for iPhone with iOS 17 or later.
- How do I delete everything?
- The panic button wipes your local keys and data in one tap. Synced data can be deleted from the account deletion page.
